  • DivX Tv-Out skips...

    Hi, I'm trying to play DivX movies on my TV-Out. I use latest G400 drivers for W2K and DivXG400 2.5 in DVDMax mode.

    When playing DivX movies on TV-Out it skips just a little bit every maybe ~7 sec. It doesn't skip on the monitor. This is very annoying, is there anything I can do to fix this?

    Thanks!

    Is this the infamous PAL/PAL60 bug?
    Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

      I don't know, what kind of bug is that?
      The skip is very short, maybe half a second but very annoying and noticable.

      It's connected this way:

      G400 -> Matrox SVHS cable -> 15M SVHS cable -> SCART Adapter -> TV

      I'm running PAL on the DVDMax settings.

        and what tv standard is your tv set at while playing back those clips?

        If you play back NTSC material on a PAL TV it's bound to 'stutter' since NTSC uses a different framerate than PAL.

        This is most noticable with 24 fps AVIs, since when those are played back to PAL tv-out, one frame is doubled every second, which produces a very noticable stutter.

        If you want to get rid of this stutter, download and install the DivXG400 directshow filter, which has the option to speed up the movie by 4%.

          I run the TV in PAL mode and I have the DivXG400 proggie. On what frame rate should I set it? It has several options.

            Set it to the frame rate that suits to the clip
            DivXG400 reports frame rate in its options. Use that one.
