  • Recommend Win2K DVD player?

Can someone recommend a stable DVD player to run on my Win2K (SP2) box? My video is a G400, if that matters.

    Thanks.

Most people will agree that Power DVD 3.0 is one of the best DVD software out there. Another highly recommended DVD software is WinDVD 3.0

Hmmm. I was just looking over the PowerDVD specs at CyberLink's web page. I didn't any Matrox cards listed among those video chipsets supported (http://www.gocyberlink.com/english/p...patibility.jsp).

My recollection is that the G400 has some sort of hardware acceleration for DVD playback. Am I misremembering or is it that PowerDVD just doesn't support Matrox cards?

        Thanks.

The G400 doesn't have any hardware acceleration for DVD. PowerDVD 3.0 worked fine on my G400 MAX when I used it. I use WinDVD 3.0 now.

Without a doubt you should use WinDVD. WinDVD rocks, and it blows away PowerDVD. PowerDVD XP, and version 4, are both supposed to come close to WinDVD, but there is still a difference. If you get WinDVD PRO, you also get software DTS decoding!
