  • Help! Maxtor HD always go into power save mode

    I have a DiamondMax 60 HD and it always go into power save mode. So it spins down when I don't have any disk activity going on for 20 seconds and take forever to spin up when I access. I already turned off the power saving in Win2k and disabled the Acoustic Management on the HD itself. What else can I do?

    Thought about changing the power saving settings in the BIOS?

        Maxtor = SUCK

        Matrox = GOOD

        You just got confused and bought the wrong product.

          err...I didn't buy it. It's my computer at the workplace and the sys admin doesn't have a clue either.

          I'll never buy a Maxtor myself....been a Quantum user for 8 years...from the Prodrive LPS to Fireball LM. Too bad POS Maxtor bought them out.

            Take it out and drop it on the floor and then ask your supervisor to buy you a new drive.
