  • Kyro 2 problem, PLEASE HELP!

    Hi guys,
I have a small problem with my Kyro II from (Prophet 4500 from Hercules).

Well let me get right to the point.

I kind of messed around with my card applying some additional heatsinks on the mem. And by misstake damaged one of the components badly, not the memory. The component is located on the upper righthand side. It's a yellow one with the component number of C39. I would appreciate if someone could tell me what the component number is, that is the one right ON the component, or even better if you know what kind of component it is, please tell me.

    Many thanks Adrian

Kondensator! Står det något numer på själva kondensatorn?
According to the latest official figures, 43% of all statistics are totally worthless...

      Thanks

                  Back with some good info.

The capacitator which I damaged is a 100 uF which is used by the the regulator above, that is the MIC29302BU.

The capacitator is used to balance the VOut from the regulator. When thi capacitator i damaged, the regulator has to work a whole lot more than it's designed for, which leeds to overheating itself and locking the computer.

In my case I just have to get the component and solder it on the card.

I could probably get more info if you need =)

My system is now up and running again yippiiieee
While waiting for my 100uF capacitator I replaced the damaged one with a 120uF no problems, atleast no instabilities because of the videocard. Well at the same time as I replaced the capacitator I solded a 18kOhm resistor on to R37 but still it wont OC higher than 183 Mhz.

                      Cheers
