I have to agree that the US media has overstepped its ethical/moral boundaries too many times.

      I agree.
They struck first and killed thousands of civilians.
We have killed a few and only by accident.
      This is War after all.
      I don't understand the comparison.

Sure is a sad commentary on the mental state of affairs in our "Journalism Schools", isn't it?

They just need to stop having press conferences, arrest and jail anyone leaking information to the press, and when asked a question say 'NO COMMENT'. Some of our politicians just need to grow some balls.

            Joel,

Simply saying "NO COMMENT" is rather inadequate in situations such as these. This calls for a much bolder statement....such as "I can neither confirm nor deny that."

                Speaking of news.

Blair Urges End to Mideast Violence
Updated: Thu, Nov 01 11:19 AM EST
By ROBERT BARR, Associated Press Writer
JERUSALEM (AP) - British Prime Minister Tony Blair, winding up a trip to the Middle East, urged Israelis and Palestinians on Thursday to stop violence and return to the peace table.

Nothing annoys a professional questioner like being asked a tough question in return. When asked about some sensitive military information, our defense spokesmen need to ask the questioner "And why do our enemies need to know this information?"

That should put them in their place right away..

Our press suggested the Blair trip to Syria was an embarrasment for him. Whoever believed that it would be easy and that common ground would found instantley must have been dreaming. I wasn't at all surprised what happened at least he tried and Syria let him in.
Also our Government is beginning to get grumpy with our press.

Yea I have notice that Rumsfield seems to get quite irritated with the press at times here lately.

Whatever happened to the 'need to know' principal??

The press should be doing everything it can bloster the country instead of bringing it down. So what if that seems biased.

One of the problems with the news media is that they have the mistaken assumption that they are in the entertainment business. The war just isn't entertaining enough for them right now.

Blair - The current Middle East US envoy!!!!

I think it is a bit weird. Tony Blair, the Prime Minister of the UK, is no his sixth visit to bolster support for the coalition. 8 countries since Monday (its Thursday now, if you count Yasser Arafat & Israel as 2 countries!!!).

Even the BBC defined his role tonight as a US envoy!!!
