  • Proxy Software.....

I am looking for a good proxy software....

And as Usual I have not gotten the Internet sharing to work.

Nevermind, as I don't like the idea of having to use dynamic ip addresses and etc etc.....

    Any good suggestions?

              Squid is also excellent

For NT (not win98) you can also use the windows versions of squid. It is free and performs very well. See it at:

              http://www.serassio.it/SquidNT.htm

It runs as a service, hiding in the background. It is very flexable.

However, if you intend to run this from a dialup account, you will need to enable the DNS cache on the server and tell squid to use it (otherwise it will fail to start)

                  Thanx for all tips!

W2K built in IS seems to enlighten Seti, so I'l stick to that on my homebox.

But when We get broadband at work, I will have to look into the proxy/firewall/software/hardware issue a bit more...
