  • XP driver and Liveware for SB Live! value?

    Hi all,
I'm about to install XP on my machine and know that it should come with a OK driver for my SB live! value. But I don't know if it will work well and if I can use some of SB Live!'s softwares, such as Surround Mixer.
Is it possible to use Live! Ware of Win2000 for XP? Or is there any solution to this?
    Any help would be appreciated.

What I can say is that the XP included driver works well with my X-Gamer 5.1 and when I tell it quadraphonic speakers in control panel sound applet it gives me decent surround sound.

      DentyCracker,
Thanks for the response. Good to hear that. I hope Live! value will work as well as yours.
Oh, can you use Surround Mixer?

They have a wonderful writeup on making Live!ware for the 5.1 series for Win2k work in WinXP with MS's drivers.

Well, thanks guys for all of your comments. I can't figure out how to make SB Live! value work ok on my system. The sound is too crappy in UT,... I think I have to wait until Creative releases the drivers and Live Ware.
Another bad feeling when I installed Windows XP is that I can't shut down my computer using Windows Shutdown function anymore. It keeps Restarting. Therefore, I have to shut down manually by pushing the Power Off button of my case when the system is checking the BIOS.
Win2000 is still so good enough for now.

I had that problem in Win98SE when I had fast shutdown enabled... It would cause the system to reboot instead of shutdown and power off.

I don't know if XP would have such a setting.
