  • Beckham+svennis = Wc

OK, I'm a little bit late on this but finally England is ready for the WC playoffs.

Beckham...what a player!!! The way he played in that game almost like Maradona in the old days (86).

If he plays like that in the world cup and off course if everybody else in the english team plays at their prime we may see England's second triumph.

    Svennis is quite the coach!!!

Now let's see how Sweden fares.

Only if we have Michael Owen up front and everybody else in the whole world doesnt catch onto the revolutionary tactic of bunging an accurate long ball over the top of the defence into the path of a pacey striker.
Apart from Owen up front, we have Heskey, who's first touch is normally into row Z, Fowlup, Andy Miss-the-goal Cole, and Sherringham, who might be old but he can do the business.
We ought to have a superb midfield - Beckham, Gerrard, Scholes and Barmby - as long as Svennis stops putting Steve MacManaman in an England shirt!
And as for defense, well, all I can say is we're missing Tony Adams badly.
Neville is an excellent right back but seems to get caught out of position, Cambell and Ferdinand are both excellent players but just dont seem to be clicking perfectly yet, and whilst Ashley Cole is excellent as a left winger, his defensive skills are underdeveloped.

However, all credit to Svennis, he managed to get that motley crew through when just about any other England manager would still be looking to the old guard and making excuses.
    Except maybe for Terry Venables

One more thing..how the h%ll does David Seaman still manage to make it into the team, Martyn is today a much better keeper than Seaman.

It was Martyn and Beckham that kept England in the game last Sunday.

There is a very interesting (although being a friendly) game on the 10th of november between Sweden and England, let's see if the slow and sluggish defencemen in the english team can manage to keep Zlatan Ibrahimovic under control.

Seaman is still a good keeper, and he's more confident than Martyn at an international level. He pulled off a stunning save against Germany.
