Allies begin Bombing al-Qa'ida Bases and Targets in Kabul

Looks like the bombing of targets in Afghanistan has begun.

In respose to the U.S. moving troops into Uzbekistan the Taliban is moving 8,000- 10,000 troops and armor up to the border. It appears that we have drawn them out and are starting the first of many Air Strikes.


Also, there are new leads to the financing of the latest terrorist activities.

I agree completely, but neither is lying down passively and waiting to be shot in the back of the head.

I wish those planes had not crashed into the World Trade Center, but they did. With that act, the terror network of Bin Laden started this war by killing more people than died in the attacks on the Lusitania (which precipitated the U.S. entry into WW1) and Pearl Harbor combined. And here, there was no warning to people as the German government made in New York papers that they were traveling into a war zone, there was no intention to declare war that was botched to Japan's dishonor. This was an act of deliberate murder of civilians of many nations carried out by a criminal with no honor whatsoever. He and his cronies deserve every retribution we can give them to the end that they cannot threaten the West again.

I hope we can destroy this network quickly, so that this can all be over soon.

The last thing I want to see is our men and women going overseas to fight a war. Having their lives come to an end on foreign soil, or to get some sort of terminal illness.

With that being said, I fully support this current action that MY President has taken. We can not just sit on our hands and say "I forgive you". If we did we would lose face to the rest of the world, and open ourselves to even more terrorist actions against us.

I knew that Bin Laden would not give himself up. And I knew that those around him would not give him up. But I think the vast majority of Americans, myself included, was hoping that would happen.

You are right, war is never a good thing. But sometimes it is the only thing.

this war wont end with the destruction of the Al Keada group
it will rage for decades to come, maybe later it will sink behind the scenes and pop up once in awhile as special forces raid in some country or another bomb will go off. this is the new world order. paranoia with brief periods of chaos.and a chance of salvation

Windigo I think you're right that it will go for ages. A lot of people will die. War isn't good but sometimes it's forced on you.

... and more of a sidenote, to boot.

From a purely semantic point of view the whole "war on terrorism" thing is a division by zero. "Terrorism" is a concept, not an object. You can't destroy or defeat it. Therefore it is a senseless statement, like a "war on mathematics". While i know that many people out there are probably waging just that war...

So, let's say we are fighting "terrorists". That's something that can and should be done.

the only thing that concerns me is that this thing is already expanding from Bin Laden to the Taliban...now the Taliban might try to drag Uzbekistan into it and the Palestinians(they got there hands full right now)...whos next Iraq because based on their "evidence" the coalition could go after them, Switzerland cant be neutral because "if your not with us your against us" I wonder how much money Swiss banks get from transfers and exchanges and just sitting on the accounts of terrorists. But I doubt they will go after Switzerland except forcing them to close their offices which aint that bad since most banking is done electronically.
