  • How to remove the "Address" from the IE6 Address Bar?

Question says it all. I've tried using small icons and having no text near the buttons.

Go to View menu, sub-menu Toolbars, and check Address bar off.

Duh... that's not what you asked... Sorry, no clue

Doh, I didn't think you could with the new forums. Another forum I visit that uses vBulletin has the delete option set to moderator only, and since I hadn't had the chance to try the feature here since Ant switched from UBB I mistakenly assumed it too was set to mod only.

Perhaps try using Resource Hacker? Good luck finding the right exe/dll to edit...
Someday, we'll look back on this, laugh nervously and change the subject.

Hopefully I've peaked enough interest in this that someone with more experience in pulling apart .exe files finds it and posts a solution.

I _THINK_ I found it. I'm gonna restart now to see if it's true... if something goes wrong, I blame YOU!

Update: BAH! IE somehow found out I modified the dll so it didn't use it and wanted to update itself to the latest version... BAH!

I'm really surprised that MS didn't think of giving us the ability to remove the text. All their other bars can!
