Windows XP and the default DVD player

Hypothetically speaking I'm evaluating Windows XP... is anyone else having problems playing DVDs on the hypothetical built-in DVD player?

Whilst "Evaluating" Windows XP and trying to firstly install my Matrox G400 millennium 32MB card I theoretically had some problems. Firstly after installing the drivers Windows XP never boots again. As for DVD Playback with the Media player built in to XP it doesn't work, it doesn't even come close to working. I think it thinks that the card cannot play DVD's, odd since I run them fine in ME. So yer, in Theory I've had loadsa problems and am currently runnign on ME until I rekcon enough drivers are out to try again with XP.

basically I needed a decoder which I thought would be worked into XP... I installed Matrox DVD Player decoder and that wasn't that good... I don't think it even worked, then I installed WinDVD decoder and it worked but with bad sound... I have to just use WinDVD itself which has given me the best performance I've ever had... awesome sound quality (now I have drivers).... XP gets better and better, I can't wait to buy it... $500 well spent
