I just listened to an interesting discussion about genetic art here at the ars electronica festival (website)(examples for genetic art can be found here (Eduardo Kac, GFP bunny, ...) or here http://www.symbiotica.uwa.edu.au]).
The points were quite interesting: Is it art? What has to be done to make it art? Should that kind of art be allowed? Is it art because of the motivation of the scientist? If that is not true, is every scientist working on (read: manipulating) genomes an artist?
I really want to hear your opinions, especially because I think the European and the US point of view should be quite different...
perhaps I go again to the AEC tomorrow - Quake 2 shootout in the cave (true 3d visualisation....)
