This only happens in Windows 2000. When I play a (fullscreen) DirectX/OpenGL game, it runs too fast. No, I don't mean high fps, but some clock seems to be inaccurate so that if I e.g. run the character really runs; fps' are about 10-15. If I play that game in Windows 98 with the same computer, no such problems occur. Such games are like
Oddly enough Quakes don't mind at all: Q2 and Q3Arena run well in both OS's. There are no problems if the game doesn't use 3D hardware or (for some games) if they are ran in windowed mode. What is causing this? I've installed W2K SP1 and SP2, didn't help. It gets annoying if I have to boot to other OS every time I want to play a bit and then boot back to the one I use for work/studying.
- Half-Life
- Serious Sam
- Star Wars Racer
- Gabriel Knight 3
- Unreal Tournament
