Won't install of my work machine. I'll have to try and find the full download and see if that works.

If you find the "full" install make sure to post the link here!

Yes it won´t install here too It tops around 9 Mb and tells something like unable to download the required components. Try again later.

I HATE WIndows upadate. They could provide a link to the full package of files.

No problems installing what so ever. 11MB with W2k-install, download was fast and all files were installed ok. Just trying it out now. =)

Well, not for me. It finished dl the 11 Mb after several tries, it tried to install and it failed. On reboot I was fresented with a IE 5/6 Hybrid, outlook express hasn´t been installed and on every reboot it tried to run setup again because it failed.

I unninstalled IE 6.0 from the control panel, tryed to install it on safe mode, same thing.

I´m trying to dl it again, but now instead of the original 11 Mb, it says it´s downloading something like 9 Mb, my guess is either they changed the install files meanwhile or the previous install left some garbage on windows (most likely).

Why Windows Update? Why couldn´t they just post a f**king single file like IE60setup.exe, how difficult could that be?

I think I should have waited for it to be mirrored somewhere as I have this distinct feeling I won´t be able to even install ie6.0 without a fresh win2k install for clearing up all the mess...

                    Any sugestions?

                      Nuno,
They do have a web page where you can download update files. It's meant for IT groups that have to upgrade tons of machines, that may be behind firewalls.
The web page is publically accessible, but I don't have a link handy. Ask Rags, or maybe Greebe.

I can´t find it anywhere, also.

That strange 9 Mb download is almost finished, let´s see what it does.

But my feeling is that win2k is already screwed and other IE instalations will just fail....

Hey, wait! It actually installed fine this time!

                            So chances are:

                            - Win update download the wrong stuff
                            - After several restarts between yesterday and today data got corrupted
                            - Pure random luck

                            I still don´t get that 11 ->9 Mb though.
