Microsoft gives way on OEM XP activation
Sources close to Dell Corporation claimed today that Microsoft will no longer require its OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) to include activation for Windows XP, which as we reported last week, was sent to manufacturing on Friday afternoon.
Other large OEMs, we understand, may have also been let off the activation hook, which has driven quite a few corporate users & suppliers to corporations into a blue funk. If it's only Dell, then the others will scream, so it's likely that the others have received this Microsoft boon, too.
