proxy problem with win95b machine

I've got 3 pc connected to a proxy which is the one built-in win2k. My win2k machine works without any probs, my 98 OSR2 too.... there's only my 95b which did'nt auto detect the settings by itself and i had to set 'em up by hand. On that particular machine, IE5 works fine, but seti/genome/think are unable to reach the net. Is there some sorta way to make that thing works completely like it should?

Note that i can ping a online server without a prob, i can surf 'em using either IE5 or Netscape Communicator 4.5.
