Hi all,

are there any Macrovision patches available for the official and the "leaked" videotools? I would rather not install videotools 2.02.17; maybe the author of the patch would be so kind to publish the byte sequence that he replaces?

I will try to do something for the official 2.04, however for my Marvel G400 thr best is 2.02.017.

You kindly provided a patch providing YUY2 with VT 1.52.

Yesterday I installed the newest and last version of VT (1.55.043) for 98/ME, and now I am suffering the loss of YUY2 availability.

Do you have a patch or plan to have a patch, or do I need to go back to 1.52?

I'd love to be able to do such a patch myself, but I have no idea what that would entail

Interestingly enough, now that I have applied the patch to 1.55.043 and got YUY2 back, I also got an audio sync problem back. I.e., when I run Avi_IO I have no audio from my video tape. As soon as I switch the video source back and forth, audio works again and is captured.

In what respect is version 2.0217 better than the "official" release? (I use a Marvel G200, BTW). The official release doesn't offer YUY2 or MJPG for the G200, and the RGB is useless (no full PAL resolution offered!).

I would gladly use the "leaked" vtools (which I believe is version 2.04005) because they alledgedly offer YUY2 for the G200 also.

Because the MJPG is there and works fine with my Marvel G400 and win 2k + sp2 and YUY2 is enabled by default in third part apps.
Bad experience with both leaked and official (that's incredible no more Mjpg hardware support)

But maybe g200 is another history.

OK, I am currently downloading "w2k_vt202e.exe", hope it's the right one ??

Which display driver should I use with it? Version "w2k_534.exe" has the same file date, or should I use the latest version?

I currently have the standard Windows 2000 driver installed that came with Windows. I'll make a full backup before experimenting further.

I use the official for Marvel G400, 5.20 and now the latest 5.39.
Capturing with Matrox codec, editing in Premiere 6 with Morgan, and then final render befor export to tape with Matrox codec, that's because i experienced trembling while playback with Morgan.

You can do this:

Install vtools 2.02.017
Install Morgan (latest 2.06) and set four cc = dmb1 (disable support interleave)
Make this two reg file to switch between the two codec (not simple like win9x and sistem.ini)

Switch to Matrox

I downloaded videotools "w2k_vt202e.exe" but your macrovision patch refuses the file. The size is OK, but it says "file version mismatch (patch already applied?)".

Moreover, this videotools version still only offers me RGB and MJPG but not YUY2, so it doesn't seem to have any advantages over the "leaked" version 2.04 ???

This driver mess is amazing, and it looks like the drivers for the G450 and the G400+RRG behave differently.

With my G400+RRG I have MJPEG and YUY2 with the VT under Win2k, but only mjpeg and rgb with Avi_io.

That's why I'd need another patch for everything outside VT

In win 2000 with vtools 2.02.017 i have Mjpg and RGB in PCVCR, and Mjpg ,RGB and YUY2 into third part progs like Avi_io
That's for Marvel G400 + drivers 5.39 without any patch.
