San Francisco (in/jt) – The Chinese Internet magazine PcPop has released the first information about the upcoming 3D chip from Nvidia. The 3D accelerator will be manufactured with 0.13 micron technology and will allow for clock rates of 315 MHz and up.

According to PcPop, Nvidia intends on using 3.1 nano-seconds DDR-RAM, clocked at 644 MHz. The GeForce4 board will probably feature 128 MB DDR-RAM.

Also, the GeForce4 will feature six rendering pipelines, unlike the current GeForce3, which still has to make do with four. Further, 10x FSAA will apparently be possible.

This data was not confirmed by Nvidia. Six or more months will most likely pass before Nvidia is going to announce its GeForce4 3D chip officially. For now, Nvidia will announce its GeForce3 Ultra in the next few weeks in response to ATI's Radeon family.

Nope. The next Geforce 3 will be higher clocked and include a vertex shader. Basically it'll be the same as the graphics chip in the XBOX except a little faster.

That's my take on it too, DosFreak. Kinda seemed like it had to be when they announced the specs of GF3 (after having read about XBox processor and the expected release of that hardware)..
