Tertratech introduces new Internet antispam filter

London, 12th August 2001, from our local reporter there, Pjitr Kablinski

This morning Tetratech announced a revolutionary new antispam filter for use on the internet, called 'The Spam-Eating Viking' of which they gave details at the pressconference. The filter acts a a socalled 'proxyserver' between the web and the browser, and uses several advanced spam-detection algorythms to find pages with spam on them. These pages are then filtered and displayed spamfree on the users' webbrowser. The filter also works as an email spam filter by providing a mail-proxy setup as well. Independant laborotories have certificated the filter as being 100% compliant, even in the most demanding tests, the so called 'Guru-spam' tests, which the filter all passed without a single flaw. Introduction of this filter has been heavilyobstructed by the advertisement branche, as this filter will probably kill of the whole internet advertisement market, unless advertisement companies come up with radical new ways of advertising on the internet. Maybe unrelated but 5 minutes before the press conference started a bomb-thread had been made which has been traced by the police to somewhere in Finland. Police investigation on this is still in full operation.

Licenses for the filter are about 10 dollar for each pc, and include free lifetime software updates. Analysts suspect an enormous boom for the Tetratech (TTT inc.) shares on the stock market.

            'The Spam-eating Viking' causes controversy

London, 14th August 2001, from our local reporter there, Pjitr Kablinski

Only 2 days after the announcement and release of the revolutionary new spam filter made by Tetratech, numerous complaints have been filed by online websites that claim injustfull filtering of their site's contents. These include Tom's Hardwar, TheRegister and several others. Also some users have reported that part of their software applications suite don't work any more. Reports include parts of Creative Labs' Liveware, which is bundled with the company's soundcards, as well as several Microsoft applications like Mediaplayer 7.0 and higher.

Representatives of Tetratech responded with only the words "The filter seems to work even better than we ever hoped it would". Rumours have also been heard that the company has received by post over-date pieces of cake, meat and several other kinds of food, orginating from somewhere in Finland again. There's no known connection so far with the bomb-threat though
