  • Problem with compiling drivers mga-1_3_0beta.tgz

    [root@failure]: /disk1/Download/Matrox_krafs/mga # make
    make: *** No rule to make target `../../../../../../programs/Xserver/hw/xfree86/common/xf86.h', needed by `mga_driver.o'. Stop.

    i have xfree86 4.1.0 and the include files that its looking for dos not exists is the seek way right ? i have lookt in the imake & make file but all the directoris too the file is ../../../../../../programs/Xserver/hw/xfree86/

    is that right ?
    sorry for bad english
    But i cant fix this needs help plz

    im really stuped ...

    ofcourse i NEED the source code of Xfree86, damn i need too think more
    but the directory sems strange for me any way :/ maby i fix it now ....

          not compatibel whit xfree86 4.1.0 only with 4.0.X

          Hey
          Thx, now i know the porblem.
          Its not compatibel with xfree86 4.1.0.
          (The make file) i have too find all the dirs and change them ... thats hard ... or can any one build a filter ? thats add the xfree86 include files too the Makefile ?
          Any 1 have any ide?

            Not only is that driver not compatible with XFree86 4.1.0, but it is older than the one that is. I would just go with the default driver. I have no idea if PowerDesk works with the 4.1.0 driver, although all of the modifications Matrox made to enable it to work were GPL'd and should have found their way back into the standard X tree.
