  • Question for the BetaBoys

Maybe u dont know the answer to the following question, or maybe you arent allowed to tell me, but the only way to find out is to ask

Can you say anything about when the next winme driver for g400 is going to be released? Im looking very much forward to it since the much talked about jerky pal issue should be solved.

    thx

    Jesper

We are not told when driver releases are going to happen.

So the standard canned answer is: "When they are ready"
    Core2 Duo E7500 2.93, Asus P5Q Pro Turbo, 4gig 1066 DDR2, 1gig Asus ENGTS250, SB X-Fi Gamer ,WD Caviar Black 1tb, Plextor PX-880SA, Dual Samsung 2494s

Cant say Im surprised since Haig gave me the same answer on M's own board. My next question is: Are the latest version of beta-drivers good?

        Beta Drivers......

If they know, then it's on need to know bases, and Matrox meens unfortunaly that we don't need to know

        :-(

We can answer specific questions about specific bugs ("Bug xxx has been fixed") in the beta drivers.

However, I, myself don't run WinME, and am not in a PAL part of the world, so I don't know if that particular bug has been addressed or not as yet...

I'm not sure, but try the following ...

            In DVD Max options:

            - preserve source cropping ... ON
            - scale during page flipping ... ON

(or whatever they labeled it in the english version)

I watch a lot of movies through DVD Max and I can't remember the last time my playback was jerky, but I'm running W98, so there might be another issue in WinME.

            Cheers,
            Maggi

                    Good one DJ

Thx for the suggestions Maggi, I will watch a movie very soon and check it out.

btw what brand mobo do u have? As far as I know the jerky playback was fixed for most mobos with pd6.51 but the problem still exists with most if not all Asus boards - weird!

If run a fairly olden Asus P2B-S Rev. 1.02 and my TV does support NTSC palyback, bur the only occasion that I have my output not set to PAL is when watching NTSC movies, for obvoious reasons ...
