  • VGA Monitor Extension Cables

I was looking at an extension cable for my monitor (link) and I heard that it degrades the video quality. Does anyone know about this?

As always any added connections/length will have a degrading effect on an analog signal.

I have used Belkin's extension cables with good results.

I have a 10' (3.3 meter) extension cable added to the already existing 6' (2 meter) cable for my Cornerstone monitor that is generic but very thick and it works a peach even at 1600x1200

      Not bad for $15

Rags is correct, any analog cable does degrade the signal quality, especially at very high resolutions.

BTW please fix you link, thx

I would be suspicious of the quality of that cable.... you really need one of at least this quality...

I did a search on the site you have listed above and they don't appear to carry this one.

I've noticed that running through a KVM switch can hurt quality as well.. usually the result is ghosting of some sort. I am using a Belkin OmniView SE 4 port KVM switch, but for now only for the mouse and keyboard, since I'm using the second input on my Sony monitor for the video from the second computer. If I go beyond two machines, though, I'll be in trouble.
