Anachronox not loading

When I go to play Anachronox a message pops up saying "couldn't load renderer" Anyone got any ideas what this is (I'm guessing that it's an open GL related fault) I have the latest drivers, and I did use the MAtrox un-installer before loading them. Please help, or I've just wasted £29.99

I know it's been a while since this post, but I bought anachronox recently and I had exactly the same problem.

And maybe somebody else can use this solution.

Try to reduce the color depth to 16 bits (HiColor).
(Mine was 24 bits and now it runs ok!)
