  • ATI Price drop

maybe yall know already, but ati dropped their prices again, the all in wonder radeon is now cheaper than the 450etv i think.

i wonder how the radeon 2/r200 will be priced.

i will put together a new gaming machine end of this year, so r200 will definitly be considered, and if a new matrox product will be announced i will get a kyro 2 or radeon ddr to pass the time

but the radeon does not allow the connection of 2 monitors...like the g400s...which is why I bought the matrox in the first place.

If ATI ever built a radeon that allowed 2 computer monitors I would dump my matrox...the 450tv is lame as it cannot use 2 monitors, only one monitor and one TV...I don't even own a TV ...sheesh.

"If ATI ever built a radeon that allowed 2 computer monitors I would dump my matrox"

They did... It's called the Radeon VE. It's dual-monitor functionality still sux compared to Matrox's Dual-Head, but it's still dual-monitors.
          Primary system specs:
          Asus A7V266-E | AthlonXP 1700+ | Alpha Pal8045T | Radeon 8500 | 256mb Crucial DDR | Maxtor D740X 40gb | Ricoh 8/8/32 | Toshiba 16X DVD | 3Com 905C TX NIC | Hercules Fortissimo II | Antec SX635 | Win2k Pro

sorry if I was not clear mags; but I own a g400max...for my two monitors...I also own a tv wonder...but I got it because I can capture analogue with it...my ideal card would be a matrox 450TV that allows for a hookup to 2 computer monitors...something I think would be obvious to matrox marketing/r&D...but alas they are not living in the real world....

ps...donny does the radeon ve allow for video capture as well as dual monitors?

              Thanx for feedback, dancray

now I understand ... it sounded as if you were using an eTV and didn't have a look into its specs before you purchased it.

Did you already consider to get an RR-G for your G400 ?
(would maintain full DH while adding TV capturing)

              Cheers,
              Maggi

I think the rr-g is too expensive to be honest ($250 canadian), plus it is not totally at home in the win2k environment (so I hear)...it woul be easiest if matrox would just attach a $20 port on the TVe to allow 2 monitors...

The RRG is only $175.00 (Canadian) at the Matrox Online Store.
