  • HP CD-Writer 8200

    hey all,

i was wondering whether i could remove my CD-writer the 8200e which is the HP external USD cd-writer from the casing and connect it to the PC as an internal IDE drive ? I seem to have many problems writing CDs now ! It used to be fine , but after a few re-installation of various windoze, things got crappy !

Any guidance ? As the drive is virtually useless for writing, it operates as a CD-ROM fine though...

    thnx

Yep that will work, we did that to the one we had in the office

It was only working intermittently and as someone had lost the CD with the software on it, we decided to take it out of it's box and stick it into one of the PC's. It's working fine now in it's new enviroment
