  • Wireless Networks?

I've been checking out Linksys wireless Router for a possible future network in my house and I was wondering if anyone has any experances with setting up wireless networks and if theres any pitfalls with setting them up?

    Thanks

I haven't personally tested wireless yet, but I know a lot of people who have. When working with wireless you need to make sure everything is 802.11b wireless compliant. If everything is and there is no interference on the 2.4 GHz band, you're set.

The only trouble comes in if you are using security encryption. Wireless encryption is not standardized yet, so if you need encryption, you need to stick with the same brand. From what I've been told, certain encryption schemes won't pass through certain hubs (i.e. Cisco cards and Compaq hubs).

But like I said...I haven't actually played with it yet. Just tell'n you what I hear.
