Where can I find DV compression stuff?

Is there a place where I can go to find stuff on the DV compression codec (as in if I wanted to write my own decompressor/editor? And is there a library that does simple DV stream decoding (such as the free Berkley MPEG2 source code mpeg2dec). Thanks for the help

I'm not certain where to tell you to look about info on the codec. Seems to me that I read somewhere else recently that it's not free, either. (The codec Info, I mean).

Think Ace is right, that Sony etc has all that stuff tied up.

You might try the Linux community, or maybe looking at the code in some of the simple free DV editors offered?
