  • Kyro II and Linux

Well, finally bit the bullet and bought a Hercules Prophet 4500. I bought it for its gaming capabilities in Windows. I was a little bit worried about Linux, since it is my primary development OS. Anyway, I managed to get XFree86/KDE working using the framebuffer fbdev driver. Yes, it isn't accelerated, but it works fine in 1280x1024x16, and I like the great gaming performance in Win2k.

Hope this helps someone else who wants to use the Kyro II in Linux. At least until the rumored Matrox gaming card comes out.
