I have been a supporter of Matrox for many years, but with their denial of descent drivers for the Rainbow Runner G-Serie, the abandon of the RR-G for the G450-G550 (why call a G-Serie if it doesn't support the G-card) and the fiasco of the G550, I've given up Matrox.
Now, I'm looking for a remplacement card for my RR-G (which will also allow me to remove my ageing Mystique G200 for an GeForce). What cards offer a tunner, capture with a hardware codec (MJPEG or MPEG) in half-screen and full-screen, have working drivers for Windows 2000 and which price is about the price of the RR-G.
I'm currently looking at the Hauppauge Win TV-PVR. Is anyone ever tried that card and can tell me how if perform in Win2k? They have beta drivers for Win2k, and I'm wondering how stable they are (are they better or worse than the power tools?).
