  • CPU spikes in windows 2000

OK, I hope you guys can help me, because I can't figure this out any more. I get CPU usage spikes every second or so, going up to 20%. I have turned off all unnecessary services, particularly indexing. Windows 2000 is at SP2. Any clues?

Please let me know if you need any other information.

Do you have MS find fast or a virus scanner runing?
According to the latest official figures, 43% of all statistics are totally worthless...

Go to start/programs/accessories/system tools/system information/software Environment/Running Tasks and copy and paste the running tasks here.

        problem solved

I rebooted and it stopped happening. Seemed like it started right after I played CS. I'll post back if it recurs.

Thanks for your help, Guru and Rags.
