In the UBB you could edit someone's post to see what he used for codes.

also putting text between "<" and ">" would not show up in the post, so to see what the other person possibly wrote, you had to edit his or her post :)

I never knew you could do just one post.
I always did "view source" for the whole page.
Talk about hard to read. :D

Just use "Quote" and you'l be able to read things written between "<" & ">"!
