  • Today, something else than from Matrox is coming...

Today, ATI is supposed tp announce it's Radeon 2... a slightly-faster-than-GeForce-3 with enhanced HydraVision and nearly-as-good-as-Matrox' picture quality... let's wait and see if this new prophet is in fact the messiah...

Yeah, its quite apparent that Matrox isn't going to release a card with even half-decent 3d capabilities any time soon, so that leaves as options ATI or.. hmm.. ATI (I don't consider *Vidia an option).

Oh, and I forgot: MAXX support

I wonder if 2x the 3D performance of the GeForce 3 with better visuals and far superior 2D quality at high-resolution is enough for me...

I'll believe that when I see it.

VE asked ATI's representative about the MAXX issue in WinDozes 2k and he said that this issue will not be in any future cards.

About the 3D speed: a MAXX was almost 2 times faster than a Rage 128 Pro... so a Radeon 2 MAXX should be about 2x faster than a single Radeon 2... don'T forget that the memory bandwidth DOUBLES...

'Bout the 2D quality, even if Matrox' is better, the Radeon is SO much better than a G2 or G3 at high resolution (first-hand experience here...) so I expect that the Radeon 2's 2D output should be at least as good or slightly better than the Radeon's.
