64 bit DDR ram ... http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/frown.gif

I hope they're wrong about that.

Well, the Kyro II only has 128-bit SDR and it seems to work just fine. Wouldn't, in theory, 64-bit ddr be relatively equivalent??

I doubt the G550 will have any kind of Tile-based rendering or any other kind of memory bandwidth saving technology for that matter. So the G550 will prolly suffer the fate that the GFMX and Radeon SDR had, and be memory crippled. CHHAS was right when he said " http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/frown.gif "

No, 64-bit is 64-bit.. plain and simple. 128-bit SDR will actaully be faster than 64-bit DDR due to the corresponding lower latency from the wider pipeline. Hell, where I work we design boards for high end medical graphics (2D) and we are using 128-bit on our new products. 64-bit wide memory bus blows chunks.. period.
