Seen on Power VR Revolution! Someone got Info ?

As seen at PowerVR Revolution :"As a follow-up to the previous post regarding Matrox news, I would like to add that the G800 is NOT dead. The card, which apparently boosts some very impressive features, has simply been rescheduled for 2002. On the other hand, two cards are to be released soon. The first one is the G550. I have no information about this card, unfortunately. The second card will use a new technology called Parhelia. Parhelia is a completely redesigned graphics engine, which we can guess will be used in their future cards."

    Got Info ???

This looks to be the first mention of "Parhelia" in our forums. Interestingly it was posted almost exactly one year prior to the expected launch date.

But the G800 IS dead. Haig said himself, Parhelia is not a G card.
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

It appears that PowerVR Revolution was the first to mention the Matrox Parhelia. That site got absorbed and I wasn't able to find the original article on the new site. Does anybody know how they got that leak or if the P was mentioned somewhere else first? Just trying to track down the initial public disclosure of the code-name.

Maybe Parhelia was originally the codename for triple-head, and MURCers made it the codename of the card. http://www.tech-report.com/onearticle.x/2329 was a little earlier, and although it doesn't mention Parhelia it states pretty exactly what has been going on (except for the G550 performance figures, they all expected it to have 128-bit DDR). The PowerVR Revolution thingy could in fact have been a forum posting or piece of news inspired by the Tech Report's above news.

I'm not going to rape this classic thread any further
