It's not as beautiful as VulpineGL or 3DMark 2001, but it can run smoothly on about any machine... www.glexcess.com (http://www.glexcess.com)

It only uses OpenGL code and one, yes, only one, 3D object... (the F-16 fighter I guess...)

Please, post your results (either with a G400 or G450, or both) and your drivers numbers so we can see which drivers and the best for GL apps...

I currently only have a Radeon DDR 32 MB (@220core/220mem) and a G400 DH 16 MB @175core/233mem (I managed to sell my GF3 for a pretty good price http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/biggrin.gif http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/biggrin.gif http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/biggrin.gif)

Thanks for your time and efforts, this is what makes MURC such a nice place... http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/smile.gif

Francis Beausejour

Thanks in advanced

I know it ain't new; what I wanted to do is to create a thread where MURCers would post their scores using various drivers cards... so we could find the best performing Matrox OpenGL drivers (and the best performing Matrox card... probably a G400 32 MB O/Ced...)

Sorry, I don't have much time on hand, so no fancy screenies...("Waves, Optics and Modern Physics" exam on @08:15 on Tuesday...). BTW, you guys should use the 800x600@32bits setting, because it is the best compromise between being CPU limited and fill-rate limited...

I told you Joel, the best setting for a G400 is 800x600@32bits... a 45% increase... http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/smile.gif Thanks for your efforts guys, my G400 scores also correspond ewith yours

Spazm, my score is higher than yours because I used a Radeon DDR @233/233...

Just 10 days ago, I could have posted results on a GF3 @250core/500mem; it would have trashed my Radeon's scores... Usually, it was 50 to 60% faster... However, I did managed to get $600 for it, just before big companies announced they would reduce their GF3 cards' price from 600 to 450... I felt like a thief; The guy I sold it to must want to kill me REAL bad right now... http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/biggrin.gif

P.S.: it would be interrresting to see G450 scores, but not G450LE scores, as we know it would perform about as fast as a G250... http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/rolleyes.gif

Waiting for that G550, and hoping for the best,
Francis Beausejour

You see guys, the CPU has a lot to do with 3D performance; By changing the Celeron 1133 with a P3 800 @ 1200 (150MHz FSB), I get a 1050 increase...

Sisyfos, I see your the lucky owner of an AXIA... http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/biggrin.gif

On a other note, you must have made some tweaks to your system aside the G400 overclock, because you managed to get a %10 increase out a %6 O/C . . . http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/rolleyes.gif
What I find more disturbing is the fact that you get %50 more than Paul did, yet none of your numbers are over %30 faster, your cpu is %20 faster than his, your G400 %6, and that no O/C translates into a direct and full performance gain...

Anyway, something's coming, I can smell it from here... the G550 ? Nope, it's the baby... http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/biggrin.gif

Take care,
Francis

I didn't do any tweaks other than the MAX oc, but don't overlook the SDRAM/SGRAM Optimization, I guess with those it translates to more than 6%.

But, to be true I had the UD Cancer thingy running behind both tests, so I guess I introduced some variables. I'll try to rerun them without it.

AXIA is nice I'm pumpin' it 'till it's blue in the core http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/biggrin.gif.

Hey,
Could anyone having in his/her possession some kind of TCFKAG800NKAG550 http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/confused.gif could post a live picture (so we can be sure of that result) of his GLExcess/GLMark/3D Mark 2001 so we can have some kind of idea about the targetted market for that TCFKAG800NKAG550... I know that there must be some TCFKAG800NKAG550 boards out there, so you, yes you in the blue lab coat, show us you got big brass balls and enlighten us... Even if the TCFKAG800NKAG550's performance is sub-Virge-VX... although that would be THOUGH (I mean, VERY THOUGH) to beat http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/biggrin.gif http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/biggrin.gif http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/biggrin.gif

With all the upcoming competition like the Kyro 3 + 4, GeForce 3 MX, GeForce 4 (which will probably be the name of the NV30), Radeon 2 and Columbia, it would be nice to know what's going on at the company that will sell TCFKAG800NKAG550 boards... WTH, I now know more about S3 Graphics' http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/eek.gif and ST's upcoming products than I do about that special company we all love and cherish (in a PLATONIC way you perv http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/tongue.gif )
