  • Can anyone post 3D Mark 2000 results of G400 and G450 32MB cards please?

Although this is not just 3dmark2000, it has results from 2000, 3dmark99max and quake 3. It's a quite good indication or relative performance:

      Hi:

      Win98SE clean.

Windows manages Virtual Memory (no min/ no max).

Swap file in it's own 1GB 1st partition (D on Promise Secondary channel Maxtor HDD.

      DirectX 8.0a

      Matrox v6.23 drivers; bios 1.9.

      Nothing tweaked/over-clocked.

Disabled Dual-Head Multi Display, restarted, installed 3D Mark 2000 and ran the following tests in this order without restarting:

      800x600 16bit 4123 3D Marks/257 CPU
      800x600 32bit 4014 3D Marks

      1024x768 16bit 3310 3D Marks/256 CPU
      1024x768 32bit 3132 3D Marks

      1280x1024 16bit 2218 3D Marks/256 CPU
      1280x1024 32bit 2072 3D Marks

      {3Dmark 2001 result = 1385 Marks]

Can anyone post 3D Mark 2000 results of G400 and G450 32MB cards please?

I want to have a Matrox 32MB DH card to replace my G400 16MB SH card. Since G400 cards are no longer available in the place i live, i can buy only a G450 card.
But since the performance of G450 is not as good as G400, I want to know the performances of G400 and G450 32MB cards so that I can have an idea about the drop in performance of G450.
And please also tell me your processor speed.

My former G400 DH 32MB Vanilla OCed to MAX speeds (150/200MHz core/mem) gave me +3300 3D Marks 2000, while my new G450 DH 32MB DDR OCed to 180/360MHz gave me only ~2900 3D Marks.

Those test were run on a Celeron 566 @ 952MHz.

          Cheers,
          Maggi

Hmm a legend to my graph would have been helpful!

            Blue: 3dmark99max
            Purple: 3dmark2000
            Yellow: Quake3 640x480
            Turquiose: Quake3 1024x768

The results were scaled to make them more meaningful - 3dmark99max and quake3 640x480 were scaled down and the other two were scaled up a bit.

              I am using AMD Althon 650 which have overclocked to 744. And with a G400 Max, I can get maximum 30XX in 3dmark 2000, 1024 X 768.

I know you asked for G4x0 tests, but I'll give you something else. My i740 rocks!

                        640x480x16bit 650 !!

                        1024x768x16bit 350 !!

You can tell the 3DMark2001 score by dividing those with two. I would have tried to run them in 32bit, but 16bit is the only mode my card can do...
