  • Q3A Benchmarks

    Hi,

I've just installed a new MoBo and CPU and ran some Q3 benchmarks. I was just wondering if these were the kind of figures you would expect for my system.

With the Q3A graphical settings set to the preset "High Quality", I get:

    Demo001 - 37.8fps
    Demo002 - 38,8fps

With it set to the "Normal" preset settings:

    Demo001 - 53.3
    Demo002 - 50.9

    My system:
    Duron 750
    Gigabyte GA-71XE4 MoBo
    128Meg PC133 RAM
    G400 32M Dual-head (Non-MAX)
    Soundblaster Live Value

I just want to make sure that its running as well as it should.

    Thanks,
    Uppity

I think you might have a problem somewhere:

      High Quality Normal
      Demo001 38.6 64.8
      Demo002 39.6 63.3

I reset all settings to default before switching to High Quality and Normal before benchmarking, and that was while I was connected the the internet (and I've got a softmodem!)

      My system is as follows:

      Duron 600
      Asus A7V mobo
      128Mb PC133 ram
      G400 32M Dual-head (Non-MAX)
      Soundblaster Live Platinum

I've got the latest drivers installed (6.21)

        Phage,

Did you have 32 bit z-buffering enabled and high quality sound ?

I'm not sure how much difference it will make but I'll have a fiddle with these settings.

Also I don't think being online will make a difference while running demo's.

Hmm, it seems odd that we get about the same in high quality but not in normal. Maybe I should just play in high quality ;-)

(oh yeah, I have the same drivers installed too)

No I didn't have those options on. I'm at university at the moment so I can't re-benchmark at the moment but as soon as I can, i'll post the results. But now that you mention those options, I'm guessing that your fps will turn out better than mine.
