Why does this happen?!

I try recording off my VCR and it looks ok in PC-VCR and if i open the MJPEG file in PC-VCR it's ok, my problem is that my file has these weird borders (Which i know has been mentioned millions of times but i never paid attention :P) and this weird white border on the left.

Please someone tell me how to fix this.. After i put the MJPEG file through Panasonic encoder it came out like that.. i dont want to manually crop and resize that will lose quality.

When converting between formats, it's okay to crop. MPEG-1 files are lenient on the image size, I believe. The only time you run into trouble is cropping to MJPEG, which is very particular about its frame sizes.
