  • Anyone have any info on the Maxtor DM+ 30GB?

I saw a box at Staples for a Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 30 GB at 7200rpm. The Staples lable says it is ATA-66. I wanted to get the DM+27.2 GB because I have seen all sorts of writeups on it, but I can't find it anywhere. I have searched the net high and low for info on this 30GB drive and I can't find anything! Very strange. Is the box mislabelled? Is it a brand new drive?

I have a IBM Ultra ATA 66 34.5 GIG Drive 7200 rpm. Check out www.iocomputers.com
They have the pricing posted there on this site. If I remember correctly it was $365.00
But check just to be sure since its been over two months ago since i bought mine. It might be a better price.

Yes, this should be a new Diamond Max Plus 40 series drive: http://www.maxtor.com/diamondmaxplus/40p.html
      It should be model: 53073U6

I recently picked up the new 40gig model for video capture/editing. This new line replaces the previous 68000 series (the 27.3g) with newer technology (such as lower CPU usage). Mine has been working great.

I don't know how much the 30gig is selling for, but my 40gig drive was $249 at CompUSA. Other people said they got the same price at Best Buy. I'm not sure if these promotion prices are still available though...
