Oh my gosh! You've gone and posted the results before they were made!!! (I hate this time zone £*/$# hrmph)

Anyway, 97 WUs at 7th is nice.
Hasn't done wonders for my average though.

    Btw, what's with this?
    Quoted from http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/team_list.html :
6/29/00 Note: Many users have noticed the number of workunits processed by a team is significantly different than the sum of the workunits processed by its users. This is due to a backlog of team statistics that we are currently working on clearing. Thank you for your patience.

Seems like our WUs are ~5.500 lower than the sum of our members. It kind of devaluates the team stats as the 'back log' is different between teams.

          I totally agree. I think.

And now: the top-20 fastest for last week (Aug 7-14):

The reason GnrlData's numbers are different is because I followed Rattledagger's suggestion in last weeks thread; thanks!

(Edit: note to ubb: kindly keep your hands of my ranking-by-effort table! Tried to solve, probably won't work...)

Jeg tror snart vi skal omdøbe teamet til Matrox (Årh)Users.

What part of "Aarhus, Denmark" do you have problems with?

Sisyfos: Yep, jeg kan også se mindst en årh-user på fastest-listen.

Megaman: As a german, can't you spot dutch when you see it?

(and then perhaps go from there to spot non-dutch?)

BTW Ich habe nur gesagt, das es sehr gut war, zwei leute aus Aarhus auf dem top 10 zu sehen...

                    So there.

                      Sisyfos,

Yes, that's a problem. This is also the reason why e.g. the "Daily Team Stats" thread on the TA-forums uses setiteam stats. I.e., get the numbers for all teams through their CGI-page and sum all individuals.

For a number of reasons, I'm very reluctant to do the same for seti.matroxusers.com. I just hope that S@H will fix their stats.

I don't think I have my Seti thing setup right. I'm running an Athlon 650 w/128 MB RAM and a high speed Internet connection and it took my computer almost 20 hours to crunch 1 WU from Seti! Something's not right here.

                        Any suggestions?

                          In response to Jammrocks problem:

Make sure that you dont have any other cpu intensive applications running at the same time as Seti is running. My comp is similar to yours, a little faster but I am getting an average around 9 hours per unit. So you should be around there if you close all unnecessary applications and make sure you let it just run in screen saver mode, unless of course your running the command line version. Also if you have the screen saver make sure you set the screen to go blank after a bit, it improves the speed a little. Hope I could be of help.

                            Hi Veon,

new here? If so: WELCOME TO THE LIGHT SITE !

Setting the seti gui version to run as the screensaver is not a good idea, it increases WU times about 45%. Setting it blank mode of course disables the loss of CPU time.
Using the cmd_line version is always the best.

Thanks for the insight. I've been running it in screensaver mode, with no other CPU intensive apps opened. After all, this is my gaming machine, too

I'll check out the command line version and see if it speeds things up. That or run the gui version in blank mode.

                              Thanks!
