In case anyone missed it...
http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/tech_news.html

Our databases are under major stress at this point and cannot handle the extra traffic of all the CGI programs. Under normal conditions, we receive as much as 5-10 user stats requests a second, 24 hours a day. If we turn the user stats program back on, our science database will not be able to keep up with the data server, and we could potentially lose science results.

As well, we are not running the programs that routinely update the stats pages (like domain/team/country totals, for example).

We understand that the statistics are a major part of the interest in SETI@home, and are currently doing our best to get the database back in working order.

I'm suffering from stats-withdrawal...

Maybe we should post our stats on this page.

I have 6340 units according to my user_info file.

6340!?

That means you've put out more than 100 WUs/day over the last few days! Way to go!

I've slowed down lately: I'm on 7319.

Just uploaded number 386 http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/wink.gif

edit: how come a DOS game (Settlers 2) can take up so many CPU cycles that Seti slows down??

P.S: Last time I posted in Seti@Murc, the thread was gone and my account was taken down with it http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/frown.gif Hope this time it'll be better http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/wink.gif

The workunit display is currently inactive due to excessive database load. Thank you for your patience.

Yeah, thanks http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/frown.gif

It appears that while we were in "stat limbo," breezer uploaded 770 WU's. Very impressive.

Good job!

Thanks to our mate Assimilator who always goes on about caching, I setup a 20 unit cache on all of my machines, this came on very useful last week. (no point recruiting him for seti@home) http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/smile.gif I have found out that when i process off-line (not on the network) I can crunch units about a hour quicker than before.
I am processing on-line at the moment as i'm on my hols next week so the machines will be unsupervised and could be wiped by over eager technicians, so its best to send a unit when its complete.

See ya all in a week.
