  • Missing WU!

The Seti server must be having problems. I have about 15 WU's from different machines not being registered in three days.. Damn it!

Me too, but the total increases doesn't it?
I think it's just the new personal stats(view last 10 WUs) that is screwed up.

In my case, the missing WU's does not count toward my total, period. They are just....GONE! ARRRGH !

I sent one up this afternoon and it wasn't counted towards my total. I've had WU's counted towards my total and not on the personal stats page as well.

I went to alt.sci.seti newsgroup just then. People are reporting "Trying to send Duplicate Work Unit" erros all over the place while some people are doing just fine with their delivery of WU's. Since last night I have lost 7 more WU's.

Geez, did Seti ran outa of funds or did we piss off their Network Admin.at Berkeley?.. I got off to a good start and are really having fun doing this Seti thing. Now what?

They must be getting close to an answer if the aliens start hacking up SETI.

I can verify the "Attempt to send duplicate WU" message. I just got it for two of the finished WUs I have cached. What happens is, the server simply discards the results sent in and returns the error message.

I'll get some more WUs to keep my machine going, but the ones I have finished will stay on my machine for a few more days - I'm not to eager about throwing away the last few days work!

It pains me to think about all the WUs being lost from the machines I have running at work... AAARGH!

Yet another uncounted WU. That's two in a row.

                        Saw this at Seti@Home site:

                        "June 29th, 2000

We discovered a recent problem that is causing users to erroneously get messages that they are sending duplicate results. This has been fixed as of 4:45pm PDT, but the reasons why this was happening are currently unknown."

Will try to start up Seti again and see if it registers. Damn it, I want a Store Credit for my lost WU's..

3 for 3 since I restarted Seti. I am going to send the ones in cache. Hopefully, the fiasco is over and we can all go back to crunch more WU's(for the good of science... ummm..right)!
