ICQ options
I've sat long times with a couple of messages to friends sitting in my taskbar, waiting to find a gap in that download I was doing. Have you ever had the same thing, especially before the days of broadband internet and all of that?
Here's at least one tweak for speeding up your messages going out to the people you talk to through ICQ
First off, whatever version of ICQ you use, look around all tabs in Alert/Accept modes until you find something called Auto Send through Server. In ICQ2000a & b, it's always in the menu under people's names.
Don't ask me why it would send messages quicker outward to others, it just does
