  • Launching Rockets this weekend

Going to watch a rocket launch this weekend with some friends. Part of http://www.uroc.org

Got a friend launching for his Level 1 certification using an H-180 motor.

There are supposedly rockets using motors up to the L range scheduled for this launch.

    Gonna be pretty cool!

    Kool, Electric Amish.

Many years ago I used to send up the smaller solid fuel, multi-stage rockets.

I used live passengers, small pets in the form of mice and gerbils in a clear capsule. Yes, I did use a chute so they all survived, but it did take a while before they started acting normal again.

Upon removal from capsule, they would kind of lay on one side and stare wide eyed while trembling. After an hour or so they returned to normal.

LOL!!!! Paul, that's just too much!

My older brothers launched me once too. They used an old wash machine drum and rolled me down the driveway into the street. I walked in circles for days....

Older brothers, actually my step brothers. What a drag.

The other memorable time was when they sent me down a hill on a bike with no brakes. Crash...that one even scared them for awhile when I couldn't get up at first.

But the worst time was when they locked me in an old refrigerator. Was only for minutes but felt like days.

But I got me some great payback, heh-heh... That quote is true, "revenge is best served on a dish, cold."
