  • Transparent icon text on the desktop...?

Howdy all...I was extremely bored this evening so I figured I would play with all the neat windows things. When styling up my desktop I found there was no way to make the icon text background transparent. If anyone knows how to do this in Win2k I would love to know. Thanks all.

Hmmm I had a small program, that you could add to your startup menu, that would do the trick.

Worked in NT/98/95... don´t know ´bout W2K though, but I´ll try and look for it!
If a kid asks where rain comes from, I think a cute thing to tell him is "God is crying." And if he asks why God is crying, another cute thing to tell him is "Probably because of something you did."

I didn't try this out myself, but with a program like WindowsBlinds you can give your whole Windows GUI a makeover.
Including gizmo's like making your Startmenu transparent and such.

I used to use a program like that. It was called Disappear
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

It's called Transparent 4.2 and is located here http://www.bit-net.com/~jadamg/transparent/

I use Pact SetColour which is part of their 12 Ghosts collection, the other 11 utils are quite good as well.

Thanks much all. I ended up going with the 12 ghosts program, because the other utils that come with it really are pretty neat.
