I'm going to take a slightly different road.

The worst of Year 2000 Computing:

    1. Rambus reveals secret patents on practically everything. Japanese memory manufacturers fall like a house of cards.

    2. Intel cannot produce a true successor to the venerable BX chipset.

    3. 3dfx sells all intellectual property (patents and trademarks) to NVIDIA.

    4. Aureal declares bankruptcy. All assets sold to Creative Labs.

    5. The return of the $500.00 3D solution.

    6. Slower is better!

    7. Asus releases 10,000 BIOS revisions for the K7V. 1005 "final" trashes hundreds of motherboards. 1005a released in less than 48 hours.

    8. ATI releases one or two supported driver updates to their Radeon series. Appears to adopt NVIDIA's strategy of leaking updates. Microsoft certifies "leaked" 7041 set.

    9. No G800!

    10. Intel releases new platform that probably requires a case upgrade and might require a power supply upgrade.

Liz, what is your definition for Hoosier?

          I like this one...
          a big, burly, uncouth MoFo.
          hehe

            Greebe (fellow Hoosier) ...

From what I was told... a Hoosier is a name that the people came up with back in the day. They would say who's there?.. but in there redneck voice "whhhoosezrr?" LoL <-- that was hard. Anyways, that became Hoosier. That's what I was told..and that it meant redneck too. I like your definition though

Windows 2000 finally getting officially released was without doubt the best thing to happen in 2000. Win2K drivers appearing and getting mature and stable as well. (Except for Creative.)

              Games:
              Star Trek Voyager Elite Force
It's been quite a long time since we had another single player FPS experience this good (ever since Sin and Kingpin).
              American McGee's Alice
Proved the world that not all pre-id level designers go the Romero way. Nice game just not quite as addicting in the "I must continue playing" way as stvoy.
              NFS Porsche Unleashed
Made me a Porsche fan. It's always a joy to spot a Porsche in a movie or on the streets now.

              Movies:
              1. Frequency
Other good entertainment in no special order: Reindeer Games, Road Trip, Unbreakable, The 6th Day, Charlie's Angels
