  • Video recording format question

    Hi!

    I was the first people (I think) who find the option in registry to set video recording format to YUY2.

    I have a question:
    The matrox has a video format called IF09 this format same or equivalent with other card's YUV9 format. But in this format I can't record video. Is there a way to use in matrox driver for use YUV9 format instead IF09. Matrox knows the format YUV9 but calls IF09.

    Sun,
    Where did you see that Matrox knows IF09?
    Oh, sorry, I was assuming it was for the RR-G. Is it for another card?
    As far as I can tell, the win98 vcap16.dll capture driver for the RR-G (and Marvel, of course) does not know IF09, nor YUV9. The 32 bit driver for winNT knows about YUY2 and YUV422, but nothing about YUV9 or IF09.
    On the other hand, it is true that the display cards (G400 and G200 at least) support the IF09 format for their overlay functions.

    I am watching the TV and it's worthless.
    If I switch it on it is even worse.

        Copy this into Notepad and save it as YUYON.reg then put a shortcut to it on the desktop;

        REGEDIT4
        [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Matrox\RainbowRunner\0 \VidCap\CurrentValues\ColorFormat]
        @="YUY2"
