I wonder how far the LED on the Optical Explorer mouse will travel.

If I put my finger over the sensor I can hit the wall opposite me.

This is cooool. I cant wait 'till its dark!

    *sorry*

I played quake1 for a couple of days with my optical mouse.
Unplugged it and threw it realy hard.
It, and it's LED traveled pretty far.

Uhmm, light, regardless of it's source, will travel forever unless impeded by another object. Sorry, couldn't help it

Greebe, dust in the air, and air itself impede and refract light, and because of diffusion and the particles in the air, light will not go infinitely in one vector (I think I worded this correctly, if not I am sure Himknowledge or Brain will show up to make sure I get it right)

I thought diffusion was just an artifact of the radial spread of the light from a source and that refraction is what happens when light passes through a medium.

Keep in mind that as far as light is conserned, even many sub-atomic particles are "objects".
