  • A new virus warning

    Just got this at work....

Another virus is making the rounds. It has the subject "FWD: joke". Corporate is aware of the problem and is deleting the attachment as fast as it can. However if you see it before the attachment is deleted . . .

DO NOT OPEN THE ATTACHMENT !!!

    DELETE THE MESSAGE !!!!

I don't have any other info on this virus yet.

Most people don't know what a text file is let alone a vbs file. There not all matrox forum users.

Make a more foolproof product, and somebody will make a better fool.

There will always be some poor schmuck who is guillable enough to run anything he gets in his email on his pc. Some people learn the hard way. Some get burned, yet become none the wiser when the same thing comes around 6 months later.

One of the few reasons why w95 is better than w98, wme, wnt4, w2k: w95 does not have vbs support installed by default! (Then again, w95 doesn't have TCP/IP installed by default, so that is not saying much.)

Anyone who opens an attachment without a personalized message vouching for it (or better yet a PGP encryption guaranteeing the authenticity... although maybe that's just us geeks!) is a moron and deserves to have their computer wiped.

Like the whole "I Love You" virus. Anyone whose hard drive was wiped should just have their computer taken away for good. It would solve a lot of problems.

I'm the least you could do, oh yeah
If only life were as easy as you
                          I would still get screwed

Also remember, that without these people buying computers (which they will NEVER use fully, and rarely even partially), the cost of components would be higher and the speed would be lower...
