Hey guys - I'm a touch bored with all this arguing, so I'm starting a new topic - let's have your cpmments on any films you've seen of late (I'm in a bit of a DVD buying spree mode! )

I saw 'The Green Mile' last night - thought that was VERY good! V.V.V. recommended.

I also saw 'Scary Movie' a week or so back - very funny! Also V.V.V Recommended.

Also, any good DVDs out at the moment? I got MiB 2DVD special edition - pretty impressive extra stuff on there.

    Cheers,
    Steve

I just picked up "Sixteen Candles" and "The Breakfast Club" on DVD. Both are good classics. Also I think Pulp Fiction is pretty good, as is Terminator.

I liked the Fight Club DVD. Nice packaging. Wish all DVDs gave you something like that. I also recommend Leon: The Professional (European version of The Professional, featuring 24 mins of footage cut from the American version, deemed "too sensitive" for American audiences).

Am I the only one that after seeing a movie, I never ever have to see it again, no matter how good it was? Then again I'm not a big movie fan in general, I only watch them on TV, since I hate popcorn breath and any other smell comming from the people next to you, especially chanel #stinkalot and hair spray stench.

I got T2 - Judgment Day The Ultimate Edition and really enjoyed the Special Edtion version which included some sences, that IMO, added so much to the story line. I've gotten to where I look for those with the uncut versions now. ID4 - Independence Day, the 2 CD set was the same way.

You're in region 2, eh? I have no idea which of these may be available, but my favorite region 1 discs are:

                  Smokey and the Bandit
                  True Lies
                  The Blues Brothers
                  Blues Brothers 2000
                  Galaxy Quest
The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!
                  Ferris Bueller's Day Off
                  The Princess Bride
                  The Addams Family
                  Addams Family Values
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
                  The Matrix

I can watch these flicks over and over and never get tired of them.

If you have a good Home theater set up, Blade (Wesley Snipes) is a really cool movie on DVD. It will put your subwoofer into overdrive. It's a little corney, but the sound is great!
Speaking of movies that SOUND good on DVD, The Mask (Jim Carrey) is excelent. It really takes advantage of the Dolby Digital 5.1 technology.

                      thanks for the suggestions guys!

Kindness! a big factor in choosing titles is the Dolby 5.1 surround sound as I got myself the creative desktop theatre DTT2500 the little while ago - very impressive! Only thing is the sub is too 'heady' and not 'chesty' is you get what I mean!

                          My list of favourite movies:

                          Les Visiteurs
                          La HaƮne
                          El Mariachi
                          Stir of Echos
                          2001: A Space Odyssee
2010: The Year we make Contact
                          Blade Runner
One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest

I think you can buy the first two movies as Region 2 somewhere in France with English subtitles...

I like to split my DVD selection up between movies and music. Never get tired of good tunes

                            My most recent DVDs include:
Pink Floyd The Wall (I HAVE become comfortably numb )
Heavy Metal (never seen so many animated boobs in my life)
ID4:Independance Day (2disk set, with original theatrical release, SE version (9 min longer) and all sorts of extras)

All are good disks that I'll prob keep (rather than trading in at the local DVD swap shop)

                            All time favs include:
Stevie Ray Vaughan Live from Austin Texas (awesome SRV concerts from the PBS show "Live from Austin City Limits")
The Matrix (of course, everyone already has this, don't they?)
All of the various Trek flics I have.
                            Core2 Duo E7500 2.93, Asus P5Q Pro Turbo, 4gig 1066 DDR2, 1gig Asus ENGTS250, SB X-Fi Gamer ,WD Caviar Black 1tb, Plextor PX-880SA, Dual Samsung 2494s

I can't believe nobody's mentioned Army of Darkness yet. It the best movie of all time. Period. End of story. I guess technically it's just as good on VHS as it is on DVD (I think it's supposed to look crappy ). But still... it rocks.
